Sustainable
Living Project
Who we are, alternative energy, crops & housing.
Suspro was conceived by decedents of farming families who lost their
land. We are acting to help all farmers, globally, deal with our crisis,
financial, climate, and alternative energy.
With all scientists now finally agreeing that global warming is real, and
daily discoveries that it's happening much faster than thought, and the
cutting edge one's who were chastised for even suggesting such a thing, some
are saying it's too late.
But we're talking a positive proactive view. We at least have to try
friends. We're researching and developing new methods for alternative
energy, building and housing, growing under increasingly adverse climatic
changes and disasters. It concerned with 's spread into concern
We started the project years ago with our own money. Over the years, we
expanded into a diverse group of non-compensated volunteers who all share our
common goal.
With the global environmental and energy crisis, supporters of our work to
find unique solutions to these massive problems, now include politicians of
all levels including Senators, attorneys, scientists, doctors, architects, engineers,
concerned citizens, and other sustainability.
WHERE
WE ARE
In
the high-desert Rocky Mountains of Colorado, between approximately 9000 and 9400 feet
elevation. We chose a harsh environment, with no grid electricity, to
demonstrate the feasibility of projects that can be implemented in hostile
environments.
Like the old song about New York goes "If I can make it here,
I can make it anywhere".
WHY WE’RE DOING IT
In a nutshell -
to live in a sustainably beautiful and more
productive world, that supports life, our livelihoods, and insures a great
future for our children’s children.
People love the idea of passing on some antique
they treasure, or a business, property, etc., to their descendents. If we
live sustainably, everything we have and do gets passed on to our future
families, for virtually all time.
All
scientists finally agree that global
warming is creating radical weather changes. It causes unprecedented flooding, droughts, heat, and
freezing. Contrary to popular belief, global warming doesn't just
make it hotter, it makes winters worse, and can even usher in a new ice age.
I recently saw a CNN story that was both amusing (in a sick way) and sad.
It said some people are looking at the melting of the polar ice caps (which
Einstein predicted would create global catastrophe) , as having an "up
side". The "benefit" would be creating new, shorter
shipping lanes.
We believe our projects can transcend many environmental
and global climatic change issues if we do it right, and act
quickly.
Help
us preserve the Earth's natural resources,
using sustainable ways of living. And leave a legacy of
preserving our family
treasures (the big family), for our children, all future generations.
OUR
IDEOLOGY
Of course, why
we're doing it is inseparable from our ideology.
A philosophy and attitude of caring & “doing
no harm” naturally give rise to thinking about solutions. To us, the
solution is sustainable living. Of course, next comes developing, implementing, and sharing
sustainability solutions.
So
the simple answer to why
are we doing this, is that we care.
We
think people should be "care-takers" rather
than just "takers". And we're
starting with ourselves. You can't change anyone else, but you can change
yourself. When you do that, you begin to have a constructive influence,
and provide opportunities for others to change themselves also.
All our members, religious or not, believe in
the age-old ethics of "love thy neighbor" and
"do unto others as you would have them do unto you", and we strive to act
accordingly. Some people think those are insignificant or
"hokey" ideas. To each his own. But we've personally seen "what
goes around comes around".
When you
do something good for others, you
feel good about yourself. And at the same time, you make others feel
better too. But even more importantly, you start a little ripple of making things
better throughout a community, a state, a country, and eventually the whole
world.
Regardless
of what we do, we can't avoid making some kind of ripples in the giant pond of
life. And they eventually come back to us too. What kind or ripples do you want
to make?
To be part of the solution, it just takes following
the dictates of our hearts, and choosing to live harmlessly, harmoniously,
helping others and treating them with basic respect & kindness. It's a
"win/win" situation.
